Influencer Rate Card India 2026: Rates by Tier, Niche & Platform

By CloutROI Team

There is no single official influencer rate card in India — rates are negotiated per deal, and published benchmarks disagree with each other by a wide margin. What exists instead is a set of reference ranges by follower tier, adjusted up or down by niche, engagement rate, content format, and usage rights.

This page assembles those reference ranges, explains what actually moves a price within them, and shows you how to use the numbers whether you're a brand budgeting a campaign or a creator setting your fee.

How to read any influencer rate card (including this one)

Before the tables, the caveat that matters more than the tables: published rate cards for India vary enormously, and anyone presenting one set of numbers as definitive is overstating their confidence. Industry guides in 2026 place a nano-tier Instagram Reel anywhere from roughly ₹1,000 to ₹12,000 depending on the source, and the spread widens at every tier above that.

The ranges are wide for real reasons:

  • Engagement rate moves price more than follower count. A 9,000-follower finance creator with strong engagement can command more than a 40,000-follower lifestyle account with weak engagement.
  • Niche changes the number materially. Published benchmarks consistently put finance and technology creators roughly 30–50% above lifestyle creators at the same follower count, because those audiences carry higher purchase intent.
  • Deliverables are rarely comparable. One "post" might be a single feed image; another might be a scripted reel with two revisions and 30-day ad-usage rights. Those aren't the same product.
  • Creator knowledge varies. Two creators with identical metrics will quote very differently based on what they believe the market pays.

So treat every number below as a starting reference, not a quote. For a deeper walk through what these numbers mean for a brand budget, see our influencer pricing guide.

Instagram rate card — India 2026

Per-deliverable reference ranges for a single sponsored Instagram Reel, compiled from published 2026 India benchmarks:

TierFollowersReel (reference range)
Nano1K–10K₹1,000 – ₹12,000
Micro10K–100K₹8,000 – ₹80,000
Mid-tier100K–500K₹50,000 – ₹3,50,000
Macro500K–1M₹2,00,000 – ₹8,00,000
Mega / celebrity1M+₹6,00,000 – ₹25,00,000+

Format matters. Not every Instagram deliverable is priced like a Reel. Published benchmarks put static carousel posts meaningfully below Reels, and Stories lower still — Stories typically run 30–50% cheaper than Reels, often landing in the hundreds-to-low-thousands range for nano creators, reflecting their 24-hour lifespan. A rough working order, cheapest to most expensive: Story → carousel/static post → Reel → multi-deliverable bundle. For a closer look at the smallest two tiers by format, see our nano vs micro influencer comparison.

Instagram dominates Indian influencer spend — industry estimates put it at roughly three-quarters of influencer marketing revenue in India — which is why most rate conversations start here.

YouTube rate card — India 2026

YouTube is priced differently: less by subscriber count, more by views per video and integration length.

DeliverableReference range
Short (YouTube Shorts)Priced closer to Instagram Reels for comparable audiences
Integrated segment (60–90s) on a mid-sized channelPublished benchmarks commonly cite the ₹2–6 lakh range
Dedicated / full sponsored videoHigher than an integration; benchmarks for significant channels range from about ₹1 lakh to ₹10 lakh+

If a channel's recent videos average far below their subscriber count in views, price against the views, not the subscribers. This is the most common overpayment on YouTube.

What moves the price within a tier

Engagement rate. Ask for it, verify it. For Indian micro accounts, healthy engagement typically sits in the mid single digits and declines as accounts grow.

Niche. Finance, technology, B2B and health creators generally price above lifestyle, food and general entertainment at equal reach — higher commercial intent per follower.

Language and region. Regional-language creators (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali and others) are often priced below English-first metro creators at comparable reach, despite frequently delivering better engagement for regionally-targeted products. For brands selling outside the metros, this is the clearest value gap in the Indian market right now.

Usage rights — the most commonly missed line item. Whether you can run the creator's content as a paid ad, and for how long, is priced separately from the post itself. Agree it before the shoot, not after the content performs.

Exclusivity. Asking a creator not to work with competing brands carries a real premium — published benchmarks typically put it at roughly 20–50% on top of the base rate, depending on category and duration.

Volume and rush. Multi-video packages usually carry a discount; rush turnarounds carry a surcharge.

UGC rates work differently

If you're buying content to run in your own ads rather than a post on the creator's feed, follower count largely drops out of the pricing. UGC is priced per deliverable — per video, per photo set — with add-ons for ad-usage rights, extra hook variations, and raw footage. A creator with 2,000 followers and strong on-camera delivery can legitimately charge similar UGC rates to one with 200,000, because you're buying the video, not the audience.

We cover that distinction in full in our UGC vs influencer marketing guide.

How brands should use this rate card

  1. Budget against outcomes, not rates. A ₹15,000 micro creator who drives 40 sales beats a ₹1,50,000 creator who drives 12. Track cost per acquisition per creator, not cost per post.
  2. Start with a pilot. Several micro creators, one campaign cycle, unique discount codes per creator. Then scale what worked.
  3. Compare like with like. When you collect quotes, normalise them: same format, same number of revisions, same usage rights, same timeline. Most "expensive" quotes turn out to include things the cheap ones didn't.
  4. Prefer published package prices. Creators who list fixed packages have already priced deliverables and rights — you skip a negotiation round and compare genuinely equivalent offers. That's how pricing works on CloutROI.

How creators should use this rate card

Don't quote the top of a range because you saw it published. Quote against your engagement, niche and delivery record — then justify it. A creator who can say "my last three brand reels averaged X views and Y saves" wins the rate argument that follower count alone never wins.

Price usage rights separately. If a brand wants to run your content as an ad, that's additional value you're giving up — charge for it rather than discovering later that your face is in a campaign you were paid one post for.

Raise rates deliberately. After every few completed briefs with good results, revisit your packages. Repeat clients and strong reviews are what justify increases.

And budget for what you actually keep — TDS and GST apply to creator income in India; our guide to TDS on influencer income covers the details.

What's missing from every rate card — including this one

Every published India rate card, this one included, compiles ranges from industry estimates rather than observed transactions. That's the honest limitation: these are directional, not market truth.

Real transaction data — what creators actually listed and what brands actually paid — is more useful than any compiled range. As CloutROI's marketplace accumulates that data, we'll publish it as a first-party rate report and update this page against real numbers rather than aggregated estimates.

The bottom line

Use the tables as a starting reference, then adjust for engagement, niche, language, format, and usage rights — the five factors that actually determine what a deal is worth. Brands: normalise quotes before comparing them. Creators: price on performance evidence, and never give away ad-usage rights for free.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an official influencer rate card for India? No. Rates are negotiated per deal. Published rate cards, including this one, compile reference ranges from industry benchmarks — useful for budgeting, not binding on any creator.

How much does a nano influencer charge in India? Published 2026 benchmarks put nano-tier Instagram Reels roughly between ₹1,000 and ₹12,000, with the spread driven mainly by niche and engagement rate. Some nano creators also accept barter for product-led collaborations.

Do influencer rates include ad usage rights? Usually not. The right to run a creator's content as a paid ad is typically priced as a separate add-on. Always confirm it in writing before the content is made.

Why do published influencer rate cards disagree so much? Because they compile different sources, define "a post" differently, and rarely separate engagement and niche effects from follower count. Treat any single published number with caution and compare several.

Are regional-language creators cheaper in India? Generally yes at comparable reach — and they frequently deliver stronger engagement for regionally-targeted campaigns, which makes them one of the better-value segments of the Indian market.
